While Ford Motor Company celebrates its founding on June 16, 1903, Ford Performance really came into being on October 10, 1901.
On that day, Henry Ford agreed to a 10-lap race against the world-renowned racer from Cleveland, Ohio, Alexander Winton at the Detroit Driving Club in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
Although the favourite, Winton’s car took off to an early lead, but after a couple of laps Henry Ford settled and started to make up ground. Winton’s supposedly superior car started to experience problems and by the 8th lap Ford in his ‘Sweepstakes’ car had the lead and held it to the end of the race. Proof, if needed, that solid and reliable engineering wins out!
Those principles of sound engineering foundations together with quality design and materials still rings true today and runs through the whole range of Ford Performance engines and components.
A wide range of engines and parts are available to suit all levels from fast road to top level track racing.
With engines from 260hp to 760hp encompassing technologies from traditional push rod naturally aspirated to DOHC supercharged units there is sure to be something to whet your racing appetite!
