Power Torque Have developed and released a twin start option for the JCB 444 industrial diesel engine utilising the IPU Air Starter. This allows a second starter to be fitted to the engine and provides back up in case the primary starter fails.

It is particularly suitable for remote installations and military applications where a back up source of starting is required.
